Reflections

One of my favourite photos ...
It was afternoon when we arrived in Menara Gardens. It had been sunny but the clouds gradually drifted in so that there was only a little light showing over the Atlas Mountains in the distance. The water in front of the pavilion was so still that it perfectly mirrored the stormy skies above.
Taken in the old castle district in Prague, this is a quirky take on reflections. I love these types of mirrors that throw back distorted images.
Taken in Oregon, USA, in August 2014.
I took this photo on our journey through Oregon. It was a beautful afternoon and as I looked in the sideview mirror of our car, I could see the mountains and road behind us perfectly laid out.
I have always loved the water and particularly love the way reflections of colourful buildings and boats change and merge to create impressionist-like paintings.
This photograph was taken on Lake Tana in Ethiopia. We were sailing back from visiting some of the monasteries dotted about the lake. This small colourful boat passed by us and its reflections looked like pools of paint in the water.

I love the water and I'm fascinated by the images that are created by the rippling water and the reflections of the surrounding buildings and landscape.
This series is of a particularly sunny day when the colourful buildings surrounding the Thames created almost impressionist water paintings.

I continue to capture the reflections of the buildings on water. The images feel like impressionist water paintings.

There are so many glass buildings in Canary Wharf and when it’s sunny, you have buildings reflected on buildings - creating some great images.

The newer buildings on the south bank of the Thames reflect on each other in the morning light, creating a modern tapestry.
Taken on Lake Como in October 2018
Sailing back and forth across Lake Como to the beautiful villages dotted on its shores, there is plenty of time to take in the colourful reflections on the water. This reflection was taken just off the shore of Menaggio, where I was staying.
Taken between Tallinn and Helsinki, April 2019
I took a day trip to Tallinn from Helsinki. On the ferry back, the skies cleared and we had the most glorious sunset across the Gulf of Finland. But it was pretty cold on the deck so I got to enjoy the sunset - and its reflections! - in peaceful and windy solitude.
Taken at Lake Nakuru, Kenya in January 2011.
Flamingos love to strut; they also love to flash their colourful wings. We spent a wonderful hour by the lakeshore watching these graceful funny-looking birds strut their stuff. I like the way the water captures the colour of their wings.
